The Monterey Bay seabird reports just keep rollin' in!
I've just received word that an immature SHORT-TAILED ALBATROSS was found by Lisa Etherington on 30 July at 0930 at: 36 degrees 52.614' and 122 degrees 23.426' while she was on board the SEA (Sea Education Association) sailing vessel Robert C. Seamans, during a sail from San Francisco to Monterey. The albatross had a silver band on its right leg. It was associating with about 30 Black-footed Albatrosses. I'll let the county recorders work this out, but it appears to be in Santa Cruz County. If so, this would be a first county record.
